The value of Facilitated Conscious Change

Throughout my journey in the health care field, I’ve not only studied numerous modalities and techniques but I have been treated by practitioners from numerous modalities: allopathic, homeopathic, osteopathic, acupuncture, herbal, energety healers of all types, and other complementary therapies. During this time, I came to realize that regardless of the practitioner, most therapies did little if anything to benefit me as the patient. Owing to the lack of results that I saw and received, I began my search to understand why this was the case.

This is also the time when I began learning more about “New Thought Theory,” the work of Phineas Parkhurst Quimby, and . These studies provided me with invaluable insight into the mind, which I then attempted to apply into every facet of health care that I could. What I found amazed me. Not only did Western Medicine already know this little secret, but it has been known throughout all ages of man. In modern Western Medicine, this secret is called the placebo effect, and more recently it has been referred to as the expectancy effect.

I found it extremely interesting that Western Medicine is aware that the mind can cure or kill the body, yet, Western Medicine refuses, or rather, has never bothered to fully understand the how’s and why’s behind this. In fact, many psychotherapists are currently arguing for the use of placebo as a front line therapy for depression simply because a placebo gets better results than anti-depressants and similar pharmaceuticals. If this is the case, and the reliance on the placebo effect is supported by debates and findings on the Internet and in journals, then we must ask the following question: “How and why does the body heal simply because of a sugar pill?”

Interestingly enough, this has been questioned throughout human history and individuals such as Dr. Quimby have provided lucid answers along the way. Western Medicine, however, has refused to even consider this knowledge. Consequently, I decided to take this knowledge at face value and put it to the test, along with every therapy and technique that I had ever been treated with or studied. What I found was a huge disappointment, but at the same time, I realized how liberating it was to comprehend such a finding. I found that in nearly all cases the mind holds the cause to the body’s health or disease. When these causes in the mind are treated, the body responds naturally to heal itself.

Simply put, physical substances have physical actions, but they do not “cure” or cause disease regardless of what the American Medical Association (AMA) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) say. Drugs and other pharmaceuticals can be used to stimulate or suppress chemical functions, but that does not mean that the cause is, in fact, a chemical reaction. Furthermore, current research by individuals such as Bruce Lipton have shown that one’s anatomy and physiology respond to a person’s attitude and not the other way around as thought and promoted by Western Medicine.

As I repeatedly proved this to myself through self treatment, treating others, and experimentation, I found that the mind is the key to health and happiness, just as Dr. Quimby had proclaimed over 100 years ago. However, I also found that numerous therapies geared at treating the mind relied just as much on placebo as many physical modalities do—it did not matter if it was allopathic or alternative, for it all relied heavily on placebo. Interestingly, most practitioners remain ignorant of this fact. Unfortunately, this is due to our educational system which chooses to ignore this reality. In fact, in all my years of education I distinctly remember only one lecture at Bastyr University in which the placebo effect was significantly discussed, yet the lecturing practitioner did not appear to comprehend the how’s and why’s the placebo even worked at all. In no other arena have I ever encountered any significant discussion of the placebo effect or any attempt to try to understand it fully, although there has been scores of research done on it.

With this in mind, I continued to apply and test new therapies and theories to see what was actually taking place with physical modalities, energetic modalities, and mental therapies. My conclusions are simple—physical substances have a limited effect simply because they cannot treat the mind; however, they can be beneficial in stimulating or suppressing certain physiological functions while the true causes are uncovered and treated. Secondly, most energetic modalities are wholly and completely based on suggestion. They work simply because the practitioner so strongly believes in them, while the patient is also open to the energy modalities working, but as soon as the practitioner doubts the outcome, a null effect is seen. Furthermore, as in physical modalities, lasting positive effects are rare. This pattern is often seen in energy work and spiritual healing, when a patient is literally “cured” from a disease such as prostate cancer, it is almost always the case where the patient subsequently develops a disease of similar nature, thus clearly indicating that the causes were not truly resolved. In fact, this is what Dr. Quimby found to be true and pointed out in his writings. In order to have sustained health and happiness, one must have Wisdom or a “belief of health and happiness.” Over the past several years, I have consistently proven this concept to be true.

The great burden, however, is finding the “mental causes” to one’s poor health and unhappiness. These are often hidden deep within the subconscious (subjective) mind and originated under traumatic experiences or in the early developmental years of childhood. Fortunately, through my combined studies of True Acupuncture, a myriad of mental techniques, and Dr. Quimby’s works, I developed a deep and thorough understanding of the levels of the mind and “energy” and how they interact with the body. Discovering these connections in which the the mind, body and “energy” naturally interact to create life ultimately lead me to develop .

The amazing thing I found was that an individual did not need to remember, relive, or “track down” a specific incident. The simple fact that you feel a “twinge” in your body at certain times or under certain circumstances tells you that there is a “cause” waiting to develop into something, if it hasn’t already. Once I began applying this understanding, the removal of mental “causes” became instantaneous and surprisingly easy. What I also discovered was that it wasn’t only about removing the cause, but also giving the subjective (subconscious) mind a new direction. This points to the unique nature of Facilitated Conscious Change as it not only removes the “negatives,” but quickly facilitates the “installation” of a new “positive” and the subsequent removal of any “negatives” that hinder the installation of that “positive.”

Without the new positive direction, the subjective mind has only one option to follow, the old programing or the “conditioned way of life” that is has always known. The installation of a new direction, however, leads the subjective mind down a new way of being, which quickly pulls you out of your previous way of being. As a result, you have a significant change in your conscious state of being—you are no longer the person you were previously and your actions, behaviors, thoughts, and feelings follow this new way of being. This is true change. Even without the effort of tracking down every last “mental cause,” disease and unhappiness lose their grip on you, simply because the new direction is more powerful than the old and the subjective mind follows that which is “weighted the most.”

I sincerely hope that I have accurately conveyed the importance of this life-changing process within this article. Disease and unhappiness have their root in the mind, and the only way to leave disease and unhappiness behind is to leave your current conscious state of being behind and enter into a new one. Facilitated Conscious Change is by far the best technique I have seen that is capable of helping individuals do this, while giving permanent and lasting results without the need for suggestion or placebo, and all this in an amazingly fast, easy manner.
